In a press release on Tuesday, Sierra Pacific Industries urged those who used the forest to caution due to the high fire danger in California's forests SPI noted that the "extremely dry and windy conditions" and that September 20 is the opening of hunting season in California. "We urge all those who plan to hunt on company lands to be cautious and comply with SPI's recreational use policy which prohibits camping or fires ."
