Colleges, businesses face challenge of helping workers ...
Oakton Community College will offer an online dictionary to students in certain manufacturing classes this spring after seeing the numbers of students needing English-language help soar to four times the numbers from eight years ago. McDonald's Corp. has seen the numbers of its Chicago-area restaurant crew and managers enrolled in its English-language class, dubbed "English Under the Arches," more than double from a year ago.
