Green Scissors Wants Energy Subsidies Cut
Green Scissors, a coalition of groups that has campaigned to make environmental and fiscal responsibility priorities in Washington since 1994, is recommending deep cuts in energy spending. The four organizations – Public Citizen, Friends of the Earth, the Heartland Institute and Taxpayers for Common Sense – identified $380 billion in government subsidies over the next five years ‘that are not only wasteful but environmentally harmful.’
