July Construction Employment Rises in Just 26 States
Nearly as many states lost construction jobs for the month and the year as reported gains, reflecting cutbacks in federally funded construction. The largest percentage increases in construction employment over 12 months took place in North Dakota (+4,000 jobs), Illinois (+15,400 jobs), Michigan (+9,600 jobs) and Oklahoma (+4,000 jobs).
