Construction Spending Increases 1.4% in March
Spending for housing, nonresidential buildings and heavy construction all expanded modestly in March after plunging 6.5% December through February. Reed Construction Data’s Jim Haughey says “The improvement should be interpreted as a partial reversal of the weather related losses during the winter.” All project types were steady or up except multifamily housing, communication, water/sewer and conservation.
