Hopeful Glimmers of Construction Recovery
There are some hopeful signs for construction – sustained growth in multi-family housing starts, warehouse construction, and manufacturing production, for example – even though national figures for spending and employment remain at depression levels. Associated General Contractors Chief Economist Ken Simonson suggests some state gains in employment, with one state setting a construction-employment record, demonstrate isolated improvement.
