Two-Week Federal Spending Detente Cuts $1 Billion from Transportation
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has predicted his chamber will approve a two-week extension of the federal spending resolution passed earlier this week by the House. Avoiding tomorrow’s government-shutdown deadline is a good thing, but the resolution foreshadows budget-axe blows to federal transportation spending that should be expected in any future legislation funding the feds until September’s end
