LaHood: Highway Bill Could be Signed by AugustUnderscoring the historically bipartisan support for building infrastructure, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said yesterday that he is confident a multiyear bill to reauthorize the nation’s surface transportation programs can be passed by Congress and signed into law by the August summer recess. He also reiterated the Obama administration’s opposition to increasing federal taxes on gasoline and diesel fuel to fund transportation
