Construction Unemployment Nearing 21%
December employment figures issued by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicate that while general-economy employment rose for the 12th month in a row, by 1.3% in December, construction employment fell for the eighth time in 12 months. More than one in five construction workers (20.7%) is unemployed.
