New Operations Team appointed for SED 2011

New parts centre to boost Hitachi's aftersales
Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe (HCME) has announced a £10.5m investment which will triple the size of its European parts operation with a move scheduled for April 2011. The parts operation will move from its existing 7,600m2 facility at Oosterhout in the south of The Netherlands, down the road to a 53,000m2 facility (22,000m2 covered) previously owned by Citroën.

Six construction deaths in a week shocks industry
There have been six construction-related fatalities in a week, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has revealed.
Details are very sketchy but it is known that one worker died on 18 October in Bradford when the trench he was working in collapsed on top of him. On 20 October Essex police was alerted to a fatality in a field adjacent to Junction 29 of the M25during where a worker had been struck by an excavator.
Two people were killed the following day by a collapsing wall in Worlingworth,

Bobcat adds winter solutions for new loaders
With winter just around the corner, Bobcat has introduced a new range of snow blowers, show blades and high capacity buckets for its S630 and S650 skid-steer and T650 compact tracked loaders.

Cat to build on-road trucks

It has a Stage 3B Yanmar 57.6kW engine with exhaust gas recirculation, an Eco mode that reduces engine speed while maintaining the same torque and an Auto-Idle function which kicks in if the controls are not used for four seconds.

Leadbitter wins award for its work on new-build student accommodation scheme in Bournemouth
The Leadbitter Group has won the Best Partnership with a Local Authority award was for its work on one of Bournemouths largest new-build student accommodation schemes, Lyme Regis House. Volvo upbeat as it posts third quarter profit

The gap between my tub and tile needs to be re-caulked, but the caulking I found warned of cancer. Is there a safe, green alternative?
